The performer’s role for both these pieces is to inspire and entertain the audience as well as create wonder and enchantment. The Orchestra’s performance was loud, with a beautiful blend of string and brass instruments, harmonics, and an allegro tempo which made it all the more exciting.

Riccardo Munti was born on July 28, 1941, in Naples, Italy.

He has been married to his spouse, Christina Mazzavillani, since 1969 and is the father of three children.

Munti has won several awards, including a Grammy, and became the 10th director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 2010.  He is also one of the world's preeminent conductors. Munti has been absent for two years from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and is eager to be back to performing with the Orchestra.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra performs over 150 concerts each year, and it commands a vast repertoire from Baroque to contemporary. The Orchestra also tours throughout the United States and around the world.

For the first song, the first instrument that I chose was the clarinet. I choose the clarinet because it has such a peaceful, mellow, soothing sound, and it gave this piece a perfect blend of harmony.

The next instrument I chose was the flute because it had a rather soft, breathtaking, enchanting sound while being played along with the other instruments.

For the second song, the first instrument that I chose the oboe, because it has a rather soft, low tone, that is actually reedy. The second instrument that I choose was the cello because it has a unique sound which is deep and honeyed.

While directing, Conductor Munti, waves his baton with such energy and enthusiasm, that it is exciting to watch. It is no wonder that he is so popular and has won various awards. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra plays with such anticipation and compassion that it is no surprise that it is world renown and performs frequently each year.
